What I process

This website asks nothing of you on its own. I use no cookies and run no analytics that profile you.

So that the newsletter sign-up pop-up does not keep reappearing, your browser stores one small flag in local storage (localStorage); it stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

If you email me, I process your email address and message only to reply.

If you are a paying client, I process the data needed to deliver the service and to issue and keep invoices (billing details, email, phone). The legal basis is performance of the contract and a legal obligation under accounting law.

Newsletter

If you sign up for my newsletter, I process your email address for a single purpose: to send you occasional updates about this work, when there is something worth sharing. The legal basis is your consent, confirmed by double opt-in (you click a confirmation link after signing up). You can withdraw that consent at any time.

The newsletter is delivered through MailerLite (MailerLite, UAB, Vilnius, Lithuania, EU), which acts as my processor under a data processing agreement; any transfer outside the EU is covered by standard contractual clauses. MailerLite also processes delivery and interaction data (opens, clicks) and approximate location from your IP address. I keep your address only until you unsubscribe; after that it is removed from the mailing list.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. You also have the right of access, rectification, and erasure. To exercise these, write to mission@divorceoptimist.com.

Hosting and technical data

The website is hosted by Hostinger on servers in the European Union. Like any host, it processes technical data (such as your IP address in server logs) necessary to deliver the site. The same provider also handles the email mission@divorceoptimist.com; when you write to me, your message is processed by this email provider too. I use no analytics. The legal basis for processing technical data is my legitimate interest in securing and operating the site.

Retention and sharing

I keep data only as long as necessary; invoices and tax documents for the period required by law. I do not share your data with third parties without your consent, apart from my processors: the hosting and email provider (Hostinger) I need to run the site and handle email, and MailerLite for sending the newsletter. Your data is processed within the European Union.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. To exercise any of these, write to mission@divorceoptimist.com. I'd appreciate it if you reached out to me first so I can put things right. Independently of that, you may at any time lodge a complaint directly with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ, uoou.gov.cz).

Security

The site runs over https and I keep personal data to a minimum. The binding full wording is also available in Czech: Zásady ochrany osobních údajů.
